A solid performance to get up back up and running after last week's disappointment! and a good chance for all the squad to get some decent match time.

We took the lead after 5 minutes following a prolonged period of pressure but thanks only to an unfortunate own goal!. Both Keepers were then called into action and made fine stops at each end before the flood gates finally opened and Waverton eased into a 7-0 lead by half time.(Important to note that coach didn't make any changes until past the 4-0 "psychological barrier"!)

Newton to their credit never gave up and battled gamely throughout the second half and had decent chances to get on the score sheet but Ollie again thwarted them.

To give the score a degree of symmetry,we scored a further 7 in the second half and in fairness it could have been more, but not surprisingly we lost a bit of shape as the coach continued to rotate the line up. Next up it's Tarvin in the QFs of this Cup.
